The book A Companion to Marx's Capital is an influential work of philosophical and economic pedagogy written by the British-American scholar David Harvey. With its engaging prose and pedagogical approach, the book has the merit of highlighting several of the less discussed and less commented-on attributes of Karl Marx's influential economic treatise. At the same time, it exposes contradictions and flaws in the author's method that prove illuminating and fruitful for discussion and critique. This review discusses some of the book's key aspects and assesses whether it fulfills its purpose of providing a useful supplementary guide to the dense volume.
